(BNP) - On the morning of June 9, in Lang Giang commune, the Provincial People's Committee organized the launching ceremony of the Month of Action for Children 2026 with the theme "Happy, safe children, firmly stepping into the digital era". Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Council of the Provincial Child Protection Fund Le Xuan Loi attended and launched the Month of Action for Children 2026.

Attending were leaders of provincial departments, boards, sectors, and mass organizations; representatives of local party committees and authorities, and 150 teenagers and children representing more than 600 thousand children in the province.
Taking place from June 1 to June 30, 2026, the Month of Action for Children 2026 aimed to promote communication, raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, families, and society in protecting, caring for, and educating children; strengthen solutions to protect children in the online environment, equip digital skills, self-protection skills, and build a safe and healthy living environment for children.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Loi emphasized that over the past years, along with socio-economic development, the province had always paid attention to leading and directing the work of protecting, caring for, and educating children, identifying this as a key task of social security. The province had promulgated many mechanisms and policies to support children, especially children in special circumstances and disadvantaged children; mobilize the participation of the entire political system and society in implementing children's rights.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that up to then, in the province, 90% of children under 8 years old had access to comprehensive development support services; over 96% of children in special circumstances received assistance, care, and opportunities to integrate into the community; 100% of children under 6 years old were issued health insurance cards. However, children's work still faced many difficulties and challenges as the whole province still had nearly 5,000 children in special circumstances and more than 1,200 children at risk of falling into special circumstances; risks of violence, child abuse, accidents, injuries, drowning, and insecurity in the online environment still existed.
To effectively implement the theme of this year's Month of Action for Children, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested all levels, sectors, and localities to continue effectively deploying the Action Program for Children for the 2026 - 2030 period; raise the awareness and responsibility of the whole society on protecting, caring for, and educating children; strengthen the construction of a safe living environment, prevent accidents, injuries, drowning, school violence, and acts of child abuse; promote child protection in the online environment, educate digital skills and self-protection skills for children; at the same time, pay more attention to children in special circumstances, children with disabilities, orphans, and poor children, ensuring that all children would have access to basic services and equal opportunities for development.
