(BNP) - On the morning of June 10th, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai chaired a working session with the Health sector on the operational situation and development orientation of the Bac Ninh province's healthcare system for the period 2026-2030.

According to the Department of Health, in recent years the sector has achieved many positive results, with 36.2 hospital beds per 10,000 people, higher than the national average. Many specialized techniques such as congenital heart surgery, cardiovascular intervention, IVF, DSA, and modern cancer treatment have been successfully implemented. The sector has also been a leader in digital transformation, applying electronic medical records and maintaining a satisfaction rate of over 90% among the people.
For the period 2026-2030, the Health sector aims to build a specialized, modern, and high-quality healthcare system. The plan aims to develop provincial-level hospitals into high-tech centers while simultaneously enhancing the capacity of grassroots healthcare. Specifically, General Hospital No. 1 strives to become a regional-level specialized hospital by 2028 and aims for a smart hospital model by 2030.
During the meeting, healthcare facilities proposed numerous solutions regarding investment in infrastructure and equipment, digital transformation, training of high-quality human resources, and resolving obstacles related to land, planning, and construction investment. Departments and agencies also committed to coordinating efforts to accelerate the progress of key healthcare projects.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Loi, stated that the province is currently implementing 15 public investment projects in the healthcare sector with a total investment of approximately VND 17,000 billion. At the same time, he also emphasized prioritizing resources for equipment, digital transformation, and human resource training to build specialized hospitals and smart hospitals.
Concluding the meeting, Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai requested the Health sector to comprehensively review all tasks and projects; focus on upgrading facilities and equipment, and resolving difficulties for ongoing projects; prioritize investment in human resources, promote preventive medicine, health check-ups and disease screening for the entire population; and build mechanisms to attract and retain high-quality medical staff.
The Secretary also requested research and learning from advanced healthcare models, developing specialized hospitals, promoting socialization, and effectively mobilizing resources to gradually build a specialized and modern healthcare system in Bac Ninh, better meeting the healthcare needs of the people.
