Ancestor altar house of Nguyen Cong family receives Certificate of provincial historical relic
(BNP) - In the morning of February 18, the People's Committee of Dong Ngan ward (Tu Son city) held a ceremony to receive the certificate of ranking the provincial historical relic of ancestor altar house of Nguyen Cong family.
Leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism award the Certificate of provincial historical relic of Ancestor altar house of Nguyen Cong family to Dong Ngan ward.
The Nguyen Cong family is one of the large families, which was established early in the Phu Luu area, Dong Ngan ward. Currently, the ancestor altar house of Nguyen Cong family still preserve the genealogy book made of “dó” paper, which was recorded in April, Thanh Thai year 14 (1902).
According to the genealogy of the genera, so far the Nguyen Cong family has been connected for about 15 generations and is mainly distributed in Phu Luu (Dong Ngan ward, Tu Son city), Hoa Dinh (Vo Cuong ward, Bac Ninh city) and Hanoi city.
The ancestor altar house of the Nguyen Cong family is the great family church, where the ancestors of the family are worshiped. Over time, the church was degraded and has undergone many embellishments. The most recent restoration was in Bao Dai 6 (1930).
Currently, the ancestor altar house has an architecture of Chinese “Nhi” letter with 5-compartment Tien duong and 5-copartment Hau duong. At present, many valuable documents, antiques, and worship items are preserved.
The Nguyen Cong family held their anniversary activities on January 28 and June 25.
With the values of the relic, the ancestor altar house of Nguyen Cong family was granted a Certificate of ranking the provincial historical relic by the Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, Decision No. 1049/QD-UBND dated October 24, 2022.
