Historical Site of Giang Lieu Temple

(BNP) - Giang Lieu Temple was built during the Ly Dynasty, located in the west of Giang Lieu hamlet, Phuong Lieu commune, Que Vo district.

During the Le and Nguyen dynasties, the relic was restored and embellished many times. In 1952, the relic was completely destroyed. From 1976 up to now, the relic has been regularly renovated and embellished by local people. In addition to the restored and embellished architecture, the relics were received and supplemented with full artifacts and worshiping objects.


The roof edge is decorated with dragons adoring the moon.

Currently, Giang Lieu Temple includes architectural works: Tien Te (Front Ceremonial Hall), Hau Cung (Emperor’s Harem), Nghi Mon, and brick yard.

The temple worships the “Ngũ Vị Lôi Công”.

Giang Lieu Temple is the place to worship the village's tutelary god, the “Ngũ Vị Lôi Công” - with the merits of the general Nguyen Cong Cu fighting the Chiem Thanh invaders during the Ly dynasty and the sound of worshiping King Le Loi to defeat the Ming invaders.

The relic was ranked by the Provincial People's Committee at the provincial level in Decision No. 161/QD-CT dated February 8, 2002.
