Inaugurate “Nhà chứa quan họ” (Quan ho hosting house) of Thi Cau ward

(BNP) – In the afternoon of May 29th, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held an inauguration ceremony of “Quan ho hosting house” and handed over the project to People’s Committee of Thi Cau ward, Bac Ninh city to manage and use.

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Secretary of Party Committee of Bac Ninh city; leaders of Bac Ninh city, relevant departments, Quan ho artisans and great number of local inhabitants in the ward.

“Quan ho hosting house” project started since January 2018 with an area of 500 m2 in Group 3, Thi Cau ward, and VND 8.5 billion worth includes a 5-compartment main house with an area of about 155 m2, a 3-compartment outhouse with an area of about 55 m2, gate, fence and technical infrastructure designed synchronously. This project, after completion and putting into operation, will be a place for exchanging and teaching Quan Ho culture, contributing to preserving and promoting the intangible cultural value of the humankind.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee emphasized that “Quan ho hosting house” is considered as a unique cultural institution belonging to the provincial system of sport, culture in accordance with preserving and promoting Quan ho folksong heritage. Renovation of space for cultural activities of traditional Quan ho demonstrated Bac Ninh's commitment to UNESCO in the work of preserving, and developing the intangible cultural heritage.

In order to make the project of “Quan ho hosting house” operate fruitfully, Chairman Nguyen Tu Quynh requested Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to build up the Regulation on management and use, at the same time speed up introducing and advertising Quan ho culture to great number of local people. Each citizen is asked to enhance awareness, responsibility in protecting and putting the project into operation with the highest result.

After ribbon-cutting ceremony, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism officially handed over “Quan ho hosting house” to People’s Committee of Thi Cau ward to manage and use.
