Index of Industrial Production in 2024 increases by 5.77%

(BNP) - The province’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP) in 2024 increased by 5.77%. This is the second highest increase in the past 5 years.

By primary industry, the manufacturing industry increased by 5.7%; the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning increased by 11.06%; the water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment activities increased by 25.25%.

In terms of secondary industry, 21 industries with increased IIP, some industries with highly increased IIP included printing, copying records of all kinds; waste collection, treatment and disposal activities; scrap recycling; metal production; tobacco product production; electronic product, computer and optical product production.

On the contrary, only 3 industries with a decrease in IIP consisted of paper and paper products manufacturing; electrical equipment manufacturing and other means of transport manufacturing.

Notably, the consumption index of the entire manufacturing industry in 2024 increased by 9.66%; the inventory index of the entire manufacturing industry at the end of 2024 decreased by 11.7%.
