Miniature model of Borobudur Temple handed over to Bac Ninh province
(BNP) - On January 14, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and Bac Ninh province jointly held a handover ceremony of the miniature model of Borobudur Temple at the International Friendship Park of Bac Ninh province.

Participants at the ceremony were Mr. Abdul Kadir Jailani, Director General for Asia-Pacific and African Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia; Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairwoman Nguyen Huong Giang briefed about Bac Ninh province. With its advantage of geographical location and investment attraction policies, Bac Ninh is considered by investors and enterprises to be a safe, attractive and friendly investment destination. Bac Ninh is currently among the top provinces and cities in the country in terms of FDI attraction. Of which, Indonesia has 1 project in operation with a total investment capital of USD 8 million.

Giang also confirmed that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Indonesia was founded by President Ho Chi Minh and President Sukarno from December 1955 until now. The event of placing a miniature model of Borobudur Temple demonstrates the precious affection of the Indonesian government and its people for Bac Ninh province, she added.

At the ceremony, Mr. Abdul Kadir Jailani said that Indonesia and Vietnam are two countries with a common history and vision. President Sukarno and President Ho Chi Minh were close friends and won national independence from colonial rule as well as the two countries' declarations of independence were both stated in 1945, he highlighted. Mr. Abdul Kadir Jailani also hoped that in the future, two countries would have a high-income economy, cooperation and exchanges in all fields, thereby, improving the understanding between the two countries.

Borobudur Temple, dating from the 9th century, was inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1991. It is one of the greatest Buddhist monuments in the world and is the pride of the Indonesian.

The event of placing a miniature model of Borobudur Temple contributes to the promotion of other cultural and social cooperation in the future between Indonesia and Vietnam.
