More than 1,500 youngers join the blood donation program

(BNP) – In the morning of January 19th, at Bac Ninh Teacher Training College, Provincial Youth Union, Committee for Blood Donation Campaign, Tien Phong Newspaper, National Traffic Safety Committee, National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion jointly organized the 10th Blood Donation Day named "Red Sunday" in 2018 with the message of "To donate blood to save your and my lives".

Attending the “Red Sunday” event were Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, representatives of Tien Phong Newspaper and National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.

The event attracted the participation of more than 1,500 youth union members, students from Bac Ninh Teacher Training College, Bac Ninh Electricity and Construction Vocational College, College of Statistics, University of Physical Education Provincial Public Security, Fire Prevention and Fighting Police, Provincial Youth Union and so on, expected to receive 700 units of blood.

"Red Sunday" has been an annual volunteer blood donation festival started before Tet holiday since 2009 by Tien Phong Newspaper and co-ordinated with other units in the next years. It is the fourth year, in Bac Ninh, the Provincial Youth Union in collaboration with relevant agencies organized blood donation festival named "Red Sunday", which attracted about 3,000 youth union members to donate blood with more than 1,400 blood units.

At the festival, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Ha and leaders of units directly encouraged the youth union members to donate blood. In addition, the leaders wished that each of them should promote the spirit and responsibility, express the noble deeds of the youth of Bac Ninh with society, together contributing to the life and happiness of patients.
