Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee works with KOTRA (Korea)

(BNP) - In the morning of November 22nd, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) visited and worked with provincial leaders on measures to carry out smart city model. Attending the working session was Mr. Nguyen Tien Nhuong, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, leaders of Provincial People’s Committee Office, relevant departments, and Bac Ninh city.

KOTRA, an agency under the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, plays a role in linking Korea's trade and investment promotion activities as well as providing oversea business and investment support services for Korean enterprises.

At the meeting, Mr. Lee Dong Uk, KOTRA’s Senior Advisor, introduced the smart city development trend around the world and the typical results of smart city development in Korea based on Application of Internet of Things (IoT). In addition, Mr. Lee offers a number of smart city building solutions in areas such as transportation, environment, commerce, security, finance, health, and public life, etc. Nowadays, Bac Ninh is in the early stage of building a smart city, so representative of KOTRA expressed his desire to cooperate with Bac Ninh in providing information technology services at province in the near future, he stressed.

Highly appreciating solutions to carry out smart city development of KOTRA during the working session, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tien Nhuong informed that Bac Ninh has been in the early step to build component projects of smart city, so always taken interest to the application of the latest technologies, which help to improve the quality of public services and establish e-government.

Furthermore, Bac Ninh also learned smart city building models of several countries in the world, including Korea. In 2018, Bac Ninh has implemented synchronously Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) and installed more than 4,000 surveillance cameras in a variety of fields.

The Permanent Vice Chairman assigned the Department of Information and Communication to more deeply discuss with KOTRA and partner agencies on technical and professional matters based on the capacity of the Korean side and the actual needs of the province, reporting to the Provincial People's Committee.
