Pham family’s temple of literature is located on a narrow plot of land with an area of 77m2 in Ngoai hamlet, Kim Doi village, near the Nguyen clan ancestral house, surrounded by a densely populated residential area.

According to the seniors of the Pham family and local documents and artifacts, the temple of literature of Pham family was built in the Le Trung Hung period in an open-air style. It was only destroyed the anti-French resistance war, soon after that, the Pham family rebuilt the temple of literature with the same architectural scale as before.

Pham family’s temple of literature has walls, gate, courtyard, altar, incense - all of which are made of basic brickwork. This is the family's outdoor place of worship for the famous celebrities and the ancestors of the family, the function is similar to that of many temples of literature in the district or community- a place to worship the local sages.
The first stele is the "Genealogy" stele.
The second stele is the stele "Gia pha ky tinh mo ky".
Pham family’s temple of literature is an ancient architectural work, erected by the Pham family from a long time ago, to worship the ancestors of the family and the graduates of the Pham family (both doctors and artists).
In 2017, the Pham family erected a steel frame and a corrugated iron roof to cover the entire office area just to protect the antiquities and serve the holidays.
Pham family’s temple of literature has been classified as a national historical and cultural relic by the State in Decision No. 502-QD/BT, dated April 28, 1994.
