Documentary exhibition "Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk songs - Quintessence and Identity" opens
(BNP) - As part of a series of activities to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk songs being recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony of the Documentary Exhibition with the theme "Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk songs - Quintessence and identity" at the Provincial Library on the morning of November 13.

The exhibition introduced to the public and readers many valuable documents and materials such as: Certificate of recognition of Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk songs as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity; national candidacy dossier proposing recognition of "Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk songs" as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity; documents of the temple of the Quan Ho Ancestor; documents of the Diem Village Festival heritage. In addition, there were over 150 publications, books, magazines and newspapers on Quan Ho folk songs; projects and research work of scientists on Quan Ho folk songs and 4,000 documents arranged in art book models...
Furthermore, the exhibition also showed to readers portraits of 154 Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk artists; film, photo, and disc documents about Quan Ho cultural activities, Quan Ho folk artists, Bac Ninh Festival, the art program "Coming back to Quan Ho region" over the years... These documents aimed to continue to honor the achievements after 15 years of implementing the commitment to UNESCO on preserving and promoting the value of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity, affirming the longevity and spread of the value of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs.
Within the framework of the program, the discussion "The issue of preserving and promoting the value of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs in community life" took place with the participation of cultural managers, researchers, and Bac Ninh Quan Ho artisans. They exchanged, discussed, and evaluated the results after 15 years of efforts and determination of the Party Committee and people of Bac Ninh province to preserve and promote the value of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs in contemporary life. At the same time, the discussion helped artisans, singers of Quan Ho and the people understand more deeply the value of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs in the spiritual and cultural life of the people of Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac region during the current development stage.
Immediately after the ribbon-cutting ceremony, delegates visited the exhibition hall celebrating the 15th anniversary of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs being recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
