PPC’s Secretary chairs conference to remove difficulties and obstacles in social housing projects
(BNP) - On the afternoon of April 9, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC) and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies chaired a conference to remove difficulties and problems in social housing projects in the province.

Participants at the conference were Mr. Dao Quang Khai, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, sectors and localities; Bac Ninh bank branches and enterprises investing in social housing in the province.
In 2023, Bac Ninh province directed the development of many mechanisms and policies to create conditions for economic sectors, households, and individuals as well as support housing for social beneficiaries. At the same time, the province encouraged organizations and individuals to participate in social housing investment, ensuring harmony in the interests of the State, businesses and people, thereby, creating motivation to promoting the socio-economic development.
Up to now, Bac Ninh province has implemented 54 social housing projects for low-income people and housing for industrial park workers with a total land area of about 173 hectares. When the projects are completed, they will provide about 7.1 million m2 of floor space with more than 77,000 apartments. Of these, 28 projects are facing difficulties and problems.
Regarding the implementation of the VND 120 trillion support package, the Provincial People's Committee has announced a list of projects eligible for preferential loans, including 06 projects with a total investment of more than VND 14,500 billion and an expected loan capital of about VND 3,380 billion. To date, 02 social housing projects have received preferential loans with an approved loan limit of VND 170 billion; VND 115.2 billion has been disbursed.
At the conference, Vice Chairman Dao Quang Khai and leaders of departments, sectors and localities directly discussed, answered and clarified the difficulties and problems of investors in social housing projects in the province.
Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan briefly assessed the difficulties and obstacles of each project group. On that basis, he assigned the Department of Construction, Department of Planning and Investment to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to review and supplement projects and research plans, as well as guide enterprises to adjust their goals to expand the number of renters and buyers of social housing. At the same time, he reviewed projects that were behind schedule, assessed the capacity and determination of investors to find solutions to speed up implementation progress; carefully researched all contract extension situations for investors in the most beneficial way for the investor and proposed whether or not the enterprise must make a deposit when renewing the contract.
The Secretary asked the Provincial Bank for Social Policy to research and propose a plan for the province to entrust capital to lend to low-income subjects to buy social housing.
The Secretary hoped that investors would actively coordinate with local authorities and functional branches in implementing projects to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulations. He affirmed that Bac Ninh province was always ready to work and have direct dialogue to remove difficulties for enterprises in general and social housing developers in particular, thereby, contributing positively to the overall the province’s development.
For proposals and recommendations from investors, the Secretary assigned the Department of Construction to fully synthesize and report them to the Central Government for consideration and resolution in the near future.
