President of Timor-Leste José Ramos-Horta visits and works at VSIP Bac Ninh
(BNP) - On August 2, President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste José Ramos-Horta and its high-ranking delegation visited and worked at VSIP Bac Ninh on the occasion of the official State-level visit to Vietnam.

Receiving the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; and leaders of departments, sectors and Tu Son city.
In his welcome speech, Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized that the President’s visit took place in the context of good relations and development between the two countries after more than 20 years of establishing diplomatic relations.

The Secretary also briefed on the favorable geopolitical location and the continuous reform efforts of generations of provincial leaders that have created strength and power, potentials and a business investment environment rated among the top nationwide. The province currently has 16 concentrated industrial parks with 24 investment projects to build and develop industrial park infrastructure, featuring nearly 6,400 hectares with an occupancy rate of about 60%.
Solutions focusing on investing in industrial park infrastructure and a synchronous and modern transportation system make Bac Ninh one of the industrial and service centers of the region and the country. Among which, VSIP is a typical green, clean and modern industrial park with a synchronously invested infrastructure system.

Secretary Tuan hoped that this visit would be a milestone helping establish cooperative ties between Bac Ninh and Timor-Leste partners. At the same time, Mr. President and the delegates will receive more information about the development of the province’s industrial parks so that they can research and apply into practice in Timor-Leste, he added.

He further affirmed that Bac Ninh would always welcome Timor-Leste businesses that come to explore investment in the province, strengthen information exchanges, trade promotion, and promote unique cultural values, heritage sites, and famous tourist destinations; enhance people-to-people diplomacy and mutual understanding as a premise for other cooperations.

At the working session, representatives from VSIP Group introduced industrial parks - urban infrastructure projects in Vietnam. Particularly in Bac Ninh province, VSIP invests in 02 industrial parks of VSIP Bac Ninh in Tu Son city and VSIP Bac Ninh II in Yen Phong district.
Especially, VSIP Bac Ninh is a modern urban-industrial complex with a total area of 700 hectares, including 500 hectares of industrial park development and 200 hectares of urban areas. After 17 years of operation, the VSIP has attracted 140 secondary projects with a total investment capital of USD 3 billion, creating jobs for more than 40,000 laborers.

For his part, President of Timor-Leste José Ramos-Horta highly appreciated the VSIP Group’s development in Vietnam. He also said that Timor-Leste is still in the early stage of development with a population of 1.4 million people whose main income is from oil and gas. The President called for Vietnamese businesses to invest in mixed industrial parks in Timor-Leste and fields related to fertilizer, oil and gas. He also pledged to always support cooperation between the two countries, especially areas in which Timor-Leste needs.
