(BNP) - On the morning of July 2, at the Korean National Assembly, Prime Minister (PM) Pham Minh Chinh met with Speaker of the Korean National Assembly Woo Won Shik.


Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Woo Won Shik along with members of the delegations of the two countries.

Speaker Woo welcomed Prime Minister Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation and said the official visit will help deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations and promote the concretization of the bilateral ties in accordance with the new framework.

He congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic development over the past time and highlighted that the two nations share numerous similarities in history, culture and priorities in economic development such as digital and green transformation and climate change response, while their economies are complementary.

Expressing his delight at visiting the beautiful and hospitable country of South Korea, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked the National Assembly and the people of South Korea for their warm and thoughtful reception. He congratulated Speaker Woo Won Shik on his recent election as Speaker of the National Assembly of South Korea. He conveyed greetings from Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and senior Vietnamese leaders to Speaker Woo Won Shik, expressing confidence that South Korea will continue to develop and achieve greater success, thereby enhancing its position in the region and the world, with the Korean National Assembly playing an important role.

At the event, the two leaders assessed that the Vietnam – RoK ties have developed rapidly and substantively in various domains since the two countries upgrade their relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, with positive results recorded in trade, investment and people-to-people exchange.

Speaker Woo Won Shik asked the Vietnamese government to pay attention to and create favorable conditions for Korean enterprises to do business in Viet Nam. Appreciating the positive contributions of the expatriate labor community in each country, Speaker Woo Won Shik agreed to work with the Vietnamese National Assembly to urge the governments of South Korea and Viet Nam to support and protect the expatriate communities to ensure they live in stability in their host countries.

During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern and agreed to coordinate and support each other in international organizations.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated Samsung's results in the process of investing and doing business in Vietnam, actively contributing to the development of products applying modern technology, import and export of Vietnam. and socio-economic development.

The Prime Minister said that Vietnam is building a decree on the establishment, management, and use of the Investment Support Fund to ensure the stability, competitiveness, and attractiveness of Vietnam's investment environment, attracting investors to major projects in investment luring areas such as high technology, semiconductor chips, AI, and R&D center building.

PM Chinh welcomed Samsung’s future cooperation intentions with new products and new achievements, creating breakthroughs in the partnership in the fields of digital economy, green economy, and circular economy. He hoped that Samsung would continue to increase investment, expand markets, and diversify supply chains and linkage chains, taking Vietnam as a strategic base for production, R&D activities, and development of key products for international markets.

The Prime Minister also thanked Samsung Vietnam for accompanying Vietnam in social responsibility activities over the past time and affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always supports, accompanies, and creates favorable conditions for the group to implement effective, successful, and sustainable investment and business activities in Vietnam.
