162 fish farming areas in earthen ponds formed
(BNP) - Bac Ninh formed 162 fish farming areas in concentrated earthen ponds with scale of 10 hectares or more with a total area of more than 2,757 hectares, mainly in the districts of Gia Binh, Luong Tai and Tien Du; the average revenue was estimated at about VND 250 million/year.

There are 160 households in Gia Binh, Luong Tai, Que Vo, Tien Du, Thuan Thanh, Yen Phong districts with more than 2,000 cages, a yield of 4-5 tons/cage/litter. In which, there are 04 establishments with more than 80 cages giving income about VND 40-60 million/cage/year.
Currently, the province has 94 aquaculture establishments that are assessed and certified according to VietGAP standards, among which, 80 fish-rearing facilities in earthen ponds with an area of nearly 100 hectares, 14 cage fish farming on river with 185 cages; Truong Manh Aquaculture Cooperative is certified by Office of Intellectual Property - Ministry of Science and Technology for a brand of clean fish, providing 400-500 tons of fish/year to the market; the cooperative’s revenue reaches VND 18-20 billion/year.
