A large number of tourists visit the exhibition themed "Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk songs – Tradition and Contemporary"
(BNP) - In a series of activities to welcome the Party’s foundation day, the Lunar New Year and the 10th anniversary of Quan Ho folk songs honored by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, on January 23rd, at the Provincial Museum, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony of the exhibition themed "Quan Ho Bac Ninh folksongs – Tradition and Contemporary".
The leaders cut the ribbon to open the thematic exhibition.
With nearly 500 images, documents and artifacts, the exhibition of "Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk songs - Tradition and Contemporary" is displayed with 03 main topics including Bac Ninh - the home of Quan Ho; Cultural space of Quan Ho; and Preserving and promoting Quan ho folk heritage. In particular, it has the introduction of hometown of Quan Ho’s Lady King in Diem village, Hoa Long commune, Bac Ninh city with the historical and cultural relics such as Lady King Temple, Diem Communal House, Cung Temple and Ngoc Well, Quan Ho Hosting house, the festival to commemorate the Lady King of Quan Ho’s merits.
Besides, the exhibition will recreate the traditional activities of Quan Ho folk songs such as the making-friends custom of Quan ho, beliefs, festivals and culture of Quan Ho, and other forms of experiment, development of Quan Ho folk songs in the modern society. At the same time, the results in propaganda, promotion, teaching, and reconstruction of cultural institutions and honoring remuneration for Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk artisans are introduced at the exhibition.
In addition, the showroom also introduces achievements and rewards of the Party and State to Bac Ninh’s Party Committee, authorities and people in preserving and promoting the heritage values of Quan Ho folk songs after 10 years of being honored by UNESCO as the representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
The gallery opened from January 23rd to March 5th, 2019 will be an opportunity for visitors inside and outside the province to better understand the Bac Ninh’s Quan Ho Folklore Heritage as well as the outstanding socio-economic results that the Party, government, and people in the province have made great efforts to obtain over the past 20 years. Furthermore, it is to promote the image of Bac Ninh where is known for historical and cultural traditions to tourists during the Lunar New Year holiday.
