Bac Ninh participates in “Kanagawa in Hanoi” Festival in 2023

(BNP) - The “Kanagawa in Hanoi” Festival (Festival) took place in 3 days (from November 17 to November 19, 2023) in the pedestrian space around Hoan Kiem Lake (Hanoi city) on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

The Festival included many outstanding cultural promotional activities: Yosakoi dance, Japanese music karaoke contest, Awa Odori traditional dance, quiz with prizes about Kanagawa prefecture, idol cultural exchange program, Miss Yukata contest, performance of musical ensembles such as Bara, Anirocks and so on. In addition, there were activities to experience wearing Yukata - a traditional Japanese clothing…

Bac Ninh took part in displaying and introducing Dong Ho folk painting at the Festival; displaying and introducing painting materials and printing process; ancient prints and engravings of the craft of Dong Ho folk painting; displaying the images of Central, provincial and international leaders with the craft of Dong Ho folk painting; as well as some typical activities at the Dong Ho folk painting Conservation Center. Especially, the artisans directly manipulated and showed the way to make a Dong Ho folk painting as well as arranged a printing table for tourists to experience making Dong Ho folk painting.

The artists, actors and actresses from the Cultural Center of Bac Ninh province performed Bac Ninh Quan ho folk song at the opening ceremony of the Festival.

This is an opportunity to strengthen propagation, promotion and introduction of the unique heritage values of the craft of Dong Ho folk painting and Bac Ninh Quan ho folk song to domestic and foreign tourists. It is also a chance to advertise Bac Ninh’s image, tourism brand and “impressive – safe – friendly” destination to Japanese partners and people, as well as domestic and foreign tourists.

As a result, the Festival contributes to the trade, investment and tourism promotion as well as consolidation of the friendship and mutual understanding between two countries in general, Bac Ninh province and Kanagawa prefecture in particular.
