Bac Ninh province ranks third nationwide and first in Red River Delta region in term of PAPI
(BNP) - On April 2, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Vietnam and the Centre for Community Support Development Studies (CECODES) jointly organized a conference to announce the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) Report in 2023 in Hanoi.
Overview of the conference.
According to the 2023 PAPI Report, Thua Thien Hue province led with 46.0415 points, followed by Thai Nguyen province with 45.7875 points. Dak Nong province ranked last with 38.9711 points; Binh Duong and Quang Ninh provinces do not have data.
Bac Ninh province ranked third in the country with 45,7047 points and ranked first in the Red River Delta region.
For content indicators, Bac Ninh ranked 5th in term of people's participation of citizens at the local with 5.5334 points; 4th in term of transparency with 5.8234 points; 2nd in term of vertical accountability with 4.5467 points; 11th in term of control of corruption in the public sector with 7.1588 points; 23rd in public administrative procedures with 7.2747 points; 3rd in public service delivery with 8.2568 points; 35th in environmental governance with 3,3818 points; and 2nd in e- governance with 3,729 points.
According to the PAPI Report 2023, the quality of governance and public administration in northern and central provinces and cities tends to be appreciated more highly by people than in southern localities. Of the 15 localities in the "high" group, there are 05 in the North Central and Central Coast regions and 04 in the Red River Delta region.
Among the 16 localities in the "low" group, there are 07 localities in the Mekong Delta and 3 localities in the Central Highlands.
