Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan presents funding to support construction and attends groundbreaking ceremony of housing project in Quang Phu commune
(BNP) - On December 2, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee (PPC), presented funding to support the construction and attended the groundbreaking ceremony of a housing project for people with meritorious services in Quang Phu commune, Luong Tai district. Also attending the ceremony were leaders of the PPC’s Office and Luong Tai district.

Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan performed the groundbreaking ceremony and handed over funding to support the construction of a house for Mr. Cao Sy Thanh, born in 1939, a second-class disabled soldier (65% loss of working capacity) and infected with toxic chemicals in Phu Tho village, Quang Phu commune. Mr. Cao Sy Thanh’s level-four house has an area of about 50 m2, built in 1983 and is now degraded.

The Chairman emphasized that the policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is a humanitarian act and Bac Ninh is one of the localities that has established a Steering Committee and implemented the Plan to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. At the same time, it is one of the first localities to reach the deadline for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses with a higher level of support than other localities nationwide, he added.
He also affirmed that with the breakthrough in socio-economic development since the province’s re-establishment, Bac Ninh is one of the localities dedicating many resources to support sister provinces and disadvantaged mountainous provinces.
In the coming time, Tuan requested the political system of Luong Tai district to focus and make efforts to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area in accordance with the direction and time frame set by the province. Political organizations, unions, families, clans, and descendants of households supported to build houses continue to join hands to contribute to early completion according to the set schedule, he stressed.
Armed forces, political organizations, unions, people and relatives of Mr. Cao Sy Thanh contribute working days to participate in dismantling and building houses.
Implementing the Prime Minister’s policy on implementing the emulation movement “Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025”, through supervising, Luong Tai district has 25 households with meritorious people and households with difficult circumstances eligible for support, of which, 20 households are newly built and 05 households are repaired. Up to now, Luong Tai district has started construction of 09 houses for households with meritorious people and households with difficult circumstances. The total of support level is VND 100 million for new construction and VND 50 million for repair.
Luong Tai district strives to start construction for 100% of eligible households by December 10, and strives to complete and hand over before the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025.
