Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan works with Hanoi Medical University on building training facility in Bac Ninh
(BNP) - On March 6, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, received and worked with Hanoi Medical University on the implementation of the project to build a campus of Hanoi Medical University in Bac Ninh province.

Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen Tri Thuc, Deputy Minister of Health; Mr. Le Xuan Loi, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Professor, Dr. Ta Thanh Van, Chairman of the Council of Hanoi Medical University; Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huu Tu, Rector of Hanoi Medical University; and leaders of a number of relevant departments and sectors.

The Provincial People's Committee announced the construction of a Hanoi Medical University campus in Bac Ninh province via Official Dispatch No. 2375/UBND-XDCB on July 4, 2019. The campus will span approximately 30 hectares in the Bac Ninh science and technology application research training area (Subdivision No. 12, Lim urban area expansion, Tien Du district). The project's goal is to develop a sufficient number of high-quality medical human resources as a foundation for Hanoi Medical University to become a leading research-oriented university in Asia in training, scientific research, and technology transfer, meeting the needs of people's health protection, care, and improvement.
The scale of investment includes the construction of training areas, hospitals, and research institutes that use high-tech medicine, with a total anticipated investment of VND 3,150 billion. The number of students is approximately 3,000; the practice hospital has approximately 1,000 beds; and the research institute has a similar size.

During the conference, Hanoi Medical University suggested to Bac Ninh province two options: Option 1: Use the province's budget to support the entire project's construction before handing it over to the school for operation; Option 2: Support site clearance, protective fence construction, and land technical infrastructure, with Hanoi Medical University implementing the remainder.
After hearing the delegates' opinions, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan expressed his support, wished for the project to be implemented as soon as possible, and assured that the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee leaders would create the most favorable conditions for its implementation.

The chairman assigned relevant departments and sectors to conduct research, advise, and make recommendations to the Provincial People's Committee in support of Hanoi Medical University's implementation of option 2. At the same time, he urged that Hanoi Medical University collaborate with the Ministry of Health to develop a plan for supplementing investment capital.
