Farmers’ Unions at all levels support members to restore production after storm
(BNP) - The impact of storm No. 3 has caused significant damage to production and the lives of farmers in the province. Faced with this situation, the Farmers’ Unions at all levels in the province has proactively grasped the situation, promptly encouraged and supported members and farmers to restore production after the storm.

According to the report of the Provincial Farmers’ Union, storm No. 3 caused over 9,600 hectares of winter-spring rice to collapse; more than 1,900 hectares of vegetables, fruit trees, and ornamental plants to be damaged; nearly 140 hectares of aquaculture ponds to be flooded; 238 aquaculture cages, 153,500m2 of greenhouses and net houses for agricultural production to have their roofs blown off or damaged; 2,440 livestock to die; 16 solid constructions and houses, and 3,329 level-4 houses and auxiliary constructions to have their roofs blown off.
Faced with the above situation, the Provincial Farmers’ Union has directed the Farmers’ Unions of districts, towns and cities to promptly grasp and reflect information, and summarize in detail the damage caused by the storm to the lives and production of members and farmers. At the same time, they organized working groups to directly visit, encourage and share the difficulties of members and farmers; listen to the thoughts, aspirations, recommendations and proposals to promptly advise all levels and sectors to have support policies, promptly overcome the consequences caused by natural disasters, and gradually restore production. In particular, they urgently reviewed, summarized and assessed the damage caused by the storm to households borrowing capital from the Farmers’ Support Fund to promptly have plans according to regulations; mobilize cadres and members to actively support people in the northern provinces affected by storm No. 3.
With the close attention of Farmers’ Unions at all levels and the entire political system, it will contribute to sharing, encouraging and promptly supporting farmers in the province to restore production after the storm, while promoting the spirit of proactive response and overcoming damage caused by natural disasters, protecting people’s lives and property, and promoting local socio-economic development.
