General Secretary To Lam visits Amkor Technology Vietnam and presents gifts to employees
(BNP) - On January 13, General Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) To Lam visited and extended Tet greetings to Amkor Technology Vietnam in Yen Phong II-C Industrial Park, as well as presented gifts to employees of Bac Ninh province.

Joining the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the PCC, Head of the Central Commission for Information and Education; Mr. Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security; Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the PCC, Chief of the PCC Office. Members of the PCC including Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Chairman of the Central Economic Commission; Mrs. Dao Hong Lan, Minister of Health, Former Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Nguyen Hong Thai, Commander of Military Region 1 also participated in the delegation.
For Bac Ninh province, participants at the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the PCC, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC), Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the PPC, Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate Member of the PCC, Deputy Secretary of the PPC, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; members of the PPC’s Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People’s Council, People’s Committee, Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, and Fatherland Front; leaders of the provincial departments and sectors.

In 2024, Bac Ninh province established 125 grassroots trade unions in enterprises, exceeding 78.6% of the target assigned by the PPC; increased by 19,850 union members, exceeding 7.8% of the target assigned by the General Confederation, thus bringing the total number of grassroots trade unions in the province to 2,228 units, with 305,369 union members. The average salary of employees in enterprises was about VND 9.6 million per person per month. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of At Ty in 2025, enterprises gave employees an average bonus of 7.7 million VND/person, of which the highest was VND 219 million per person in the private enterprise sector. Since the beginning of January 2025, trade unions at all levels in the province have simultaneously organized activities to care Tet for union members and employees. It is expected that the province will have nearly 400,000 union members and employees being taken care of by the Trade Union during Tet, with a total budget of VND 121 billion, an increase of 78% compared to 2024.

Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. invested in Yen Phong II-C Industrial Park on an area of 23 hectares with total investment capital until 2035 of USD 1.6 billion. It invested in phase 1 is about USD 530 million, focusing on providing advanced system-in-package (SiP) assembly and test solutions for the world’s leading electronics and semiconductor manufacturing companies.
In the third quarter of 2024, the Company officially went into operation, with revenue in 2024 reaching VND 337.5 billion; exports reaching VND 337.5 billion. Budget contributions through taxes (personal income tax and taxes collected on behalf of contractors) was USD 3.5 million, equivalent to VND 87.5 billion. Currently, the Company is employing 117 foreign workers and 1,256 domestic workers with the Vietnamese workers’ average income of VND 22.3 million per month.

The company aims to produce, assemble and test semiconductor materials and devices with a capacity of 3,600 million products per year, equivalent to 1,600 tons of products per year.
General Secretary To Lam affirmed that in 2024, Vietnam gained many achievements in socio-economic development with 15/15 targets attained and exceeded the plan, security and politics were maintained stable. In particular, Bac Ninh province has overcome many difficulties and challenges to complete 19/19 socio-economic targets, and build Party with many targets ranked among the top in the country. The open investment environment attracted a lot of foreign investment, deployed capital meeting development requirements. People’s lives were improved, average wages of workers and Tet bonuses were increased, equivalent to the 13th month salary. Bac Ninh is also a locality that effectively implements social security policies such as building houses for workers, taking care of workers’ lives, focusing on building trade union organizations, and so on.
