Gia Binh inaugurates first house under program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

(BNP) - On January 11, the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Gia Binh District held a ceremony to inaugurate and hand over a house to the family of Mrs. Ngo Thi Lanh in Du Trang village, Giang Son commune. This is the first house under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the district to be completed.


Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Huong Giang, delegates and Mrs. Ngo Thi Lanh’s family inaugurate the house.

Attending the ceremony were Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Mrs. Tran Thi Van, Deputy Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies.

The first house of Gia Binh under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses was inaugurated and handed over to the household of Mrs. Ngo Thi Lanh, a poor household in Du Trang village, Giang Son commune. The commune steering committee, Mrs. Lanh’s family and her clan started construction on December 2, 2024. With the attention and direction of superiors, along with the determination of the family, the support of relatives, neighbors, and construction team, after 1 month, it was completed on January 2, 2025.

The house covers ​​72 m2 with its total construction cost of VND 257 million, which was mobilized from the following sources: VND 100 million from the provincial level; more than VND 201 million from the paternal and maternal families and descendants, the rest is from the family. In addition, the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and local sectors and organizations donated essential items such as televisions, rice cookers, digital receivers and more than 50 working days.

Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang kindly asked about the health and life of Mrs. Ngo Thi Lanh’s family and congratulated her on the housewarming. At the same time, she emphasized that the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses demonstrates the concern and care of the Party, the State and the community for the material and spiritual life of people with revolutionary contributions, the economically and health-disadvantaged. She hoped that the new house would be the motivation for Mrs. Ngo Thi Lanh’s family to soon overcome difficulties, settle down in life, and make efforts in economic development.
