Historical and cultural relic of Huong Mac Communal House
(BNP) - Huong Mac communal house (also known as Me communal house), in Huong Mac ward, Tu Son city, was built a long time ago. Around the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century, the communal house was built by Lan Quan Cong - Thai Te Nguyen Thuc from Van Diem village, Dong Ngan district with money from mahogany wood and thatched roof. After many restorations, Huong Mac communal house still retains its traditional architectural style.
Huong Mac communal house is a place to worship four angels as village gods who have made great contributions to the people and the country, were awarded titles by feudal dynasties and worshiped by the people.
The gate of the communal house (Tam Mon - Three gates) is built in the style of lantern pillars. On the two side gates, there are embossed Chinese characters on both the inside and outside: “Xuân quang chiếu”, “Phúc khí lâm”, “Hoa vạn hộ”, “Xuân thiên môn”.
On both sides of the gate are a pair of blue stone elephants.

The 5-compartment Tien Te (Front Ceremonial Hall) is made of mahogany wood, the front and back are left empty.
The 1-compartment Chuyen Bong house is built with 2 floors and 8 curved blades.
The Dai Dinh (Great Communal Hall) includes 3 compartments, 2 wings and the 2-compartment Hau Cung (Emperor’s Harem).
On the roof ridge are embossed two dragons facing the sun.
On both sides of the Dai Dinh are a pair of green stone dragons.
On the walls of the Dai Dinh are carved dragon and cloud motifs, twisted clouds, and stylized flowers and leaves.
The Hau Cung includes 2 compartments.
Currently, the communal house still preserves many valuable ancient artifacts from the Nguyen dynasty such as: ancestral tablets, incense tables, wooden boxes, incense bowls, eight treasures, worship horses, etc.

Every year, the local authority and people hold a communal house festival on the 12th day of the first lunar month to commemorate the merits of our ancestors. Huong Mac communal house was ranked as a provincial historical and cultural relic in 2004 according to Decision No. 2177/QD-CT.
