(BNP) – Within the framework of the Workshop “Unmanned Transformer Stations and Centralized Dispatching Systems, Digital Transformation and Distribution Grid Automation” organized by Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) in coordination with the Japan Overseas Electricity Information Center (JEPIC), the JEPIC delegation visited the Dispatching Room at Bac Ninh Power Company (PC Bac Ninh) and the 110kV Que Vo 2 Transformer Station (Que Vo town) on December 9.

JEPIC delegation visits the Control Room at PC Bac Ninh.

The JEPIC delegation visited the Control Room at PC Bac Ninh. This is the place that operates the power system in the whole province, ensuring safe, continuous and reliable operation and power supply, serving the economic development, security - politics, culture - society of the province and the daily needs of the people. Here, the controllers directly manage, monitor and remotely control the equipment at the transformer stations using the private telecommunications network system and the system provided by the network providers. They remotely turn on and off the equipment, ensuring absolute safety for people and equipment.

The delegation also visited the 110kV Que Vo 2 Transformer Station, which is Vietnam's first digital transformer station equipped with advanced technology. The 110kV Que Vo 2 Transformer Station fully meets the technical requirements for grid operation, performing control operations, monitoring devices in the digital environment; helping to reduce power outage; minimizing the risk of short circuit incidents; increasing the reliability of power supply; being easy to repair and maintain, and lowering maintenance costs by utilizing the most recent and advanced technologies available.

In recent times, PC Bac Ninh has built a smart grid, converted traditional transformer stations into unmanned transformer station models with 27 unmanned transformer stations, deployed automation of medium-voltage grid circuits; applied hotline electrical repair technology and applied flycams and thermal cameras in inspecting medium-voltage and high-voltage grids. In addition, PC Bac Ninh has implemented cashless payments, promoted the conversion of electricity metering devices from mechanical meters to electronic meters to effectively serve the digitization and recording of electricity usage data, etc.
