In 2023, there were more than 2.6 million medical examinations and treatments covered by health insurance (an increase of over 0.33 million medical examinations and treatments covered by health insurance compared to 2022). The amount of medical examination and treatment expenses covered by health insurance was more than VND 1.6 trillion, an increase of nearly 18% compared to 2022. Especially in 2023, people can use Citizen Identification with a chip or applications such as VssID and VNeID replacing paper health insurance cards, creating favorable conditions for people to get medical examinations and treatment.
