National Monument - Nguyen Thu Temple

(BNP) - Nguyen Thu Temple, Xuan Thu Quarter, Dong Ngan Ward, Tu Son City was built in the 8th year of Sung Khang, the Mac Dynasty (1573). Experiencing the war, many times of restoration and embellishment, the temple still retains the old architecture and many valuable artifacts, becoming a place of religious activities of the local people.


 

Nguyen Thu Temple was built on an area of more than 3,600m2, is the place to worship the tutelary god, Mrs. Thanh Mau and Quang Khanh Dai Vuong (the mother and daughter). They were good at strategizing, having helped Hai Ba Trung fight the invading Han invaders.


 

In front of the temple is a large lake with a system of green trees, creating a cool landscape for the monument.


 

The temple gate was built on a large scale.


 

The temp[le has 5 compartments.


 

On the top of the temple roof, two dragons are emblazoned with the moon face.


 

The two sides are a pair of green stone elephants.


 

The Emperor’s Harem still has a number of ancient carvings with bold architecture of the Le - Nguyen dynasties.


 

Currently, the temple still preserves many valuable ancient artifacts: throne, incense, altar, couplets...


 

22 ordinations of the Later Le, Tay Son and Nguyen dynasties, the earliest was in 1632 and the latest in 1924.


 

To the right of the temple is Nguyen Thu communal house.


 

Every year, the Temple Festival is held from the 8th to the 10th day of the second lunar month to commemorate the merits of the ancestors. Nguyen Thu Temple is classified as a National Historic-Cultural Relic according to Decision No. 74-VH/QD, dated February 2, 1993.
