Opening ceremony of tennis at 9th National Sports Congress

Participants at the ceremony were Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan; representatives from the General Department of Sport (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and leaders of a number of related departments and sectors.

Starting from December 10 to 19, 2022, tennis at the National Sports Congress gathered 121 players from 15 teams across the country including: Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Son La, People's Public Security, Tay Ninh, Soc Trang, Military, Kien Giang, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Duong, Dong Nai, Da Nang and Binh Duong.

Athletes will compete in 07 events including: men's team, women's team, men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.

Tennis in the program of the National Sports Congress is an opportunity to test and select the highest athletes to join the national team to participate in Southeast Asian, Asian and world tennis tournaments. This is also an opportunity for provinces and cities to draw experience in directing and building a movement to practice and compete in tennis, contributing to promoting the movement “All people practice sports following the great Uncle Ho's example”, thereby improving the health, fitness and stature of the strata of people.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, matches in the men's team quarterfinal event between sports delegations: Bac Ninh - Army, People's Public Security - Hanoi, Tay Ninh - Thai Nguyen and Binh Duong - Ho Chi Minh City; quarterfinals of women's team between sports delegations: Ho Chi Minh City - Son La, Hanoi - Tay Ninh, Da Nang - Hai Duong and Binh Duong - Military.
