Nguyen Xuan Chinh Temple, Tu Son City recognized as National Historical Relic

(BNP) - The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed Decision No. 3541/QD-BVHTTDL recognizing Nguyen Xuan Chinh Temple (Tu Son city) as a National Historical Relic.

Nguyen Xuan Chinh, the first doctoral candidate, was born on August 1, Mau Ty (1588) in a family with a tradition of Confucianism. As a child, his name was Nguyen Duc Chinh. Nguyen Duc Chinh passed the Dinh Suu examination in the third year of Duong Hoa (1637) under King Le Than Tong, earning the First Class Doctorate with First Name. After completing the exam, King Le Than Tong bestowed the title "Xuan" on him, calling him Nguyen Xuan Chinh, and bestowed the title "Tam Nguyen Dac Tien Kim Tu Vinh Loc Dai Phu Khai Quoc Trang Nguyen" on him.

After passing the imperial examinations, he held many important positions in the court. As a person well versed in military books and martial arts, he was sent by the court many times to the northern border to suppress bandits and to the south to quell rebellions, contributing to keeping the country peaceful and the people stable in their business. During his time as an official (8 years under the Le - Trinh dynasty), Nguyen Xuan Chinh used his talent and knowledge to manage the country and help people. He was a man of both literature and martial arts, an exemplary official who was honest and carefully followed the country's rules and laws. His life and career brought much glory and pride to the tradition of his family and his hometown of Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac.

Currently, the Temple of first doctoral candidate Nguyen Xuan Chinh is located in Doi Soc quarter, Phu Chan ward, Từ Sơn city. According to the family genealogy, the temple was built during the reign of King Le Than Tong, the 3rd year of Duc Long (1631). Over time, the temple has been regularly restored and protected, becoming a place for cultural and religious activities of the family and a place to commemorate and educate about the family's history, homeland and national traditions.

On January 5, the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Phu Chan Ward (Tu Son City) held a ceremony to receive the Certificate of "National Historical Relic of Nguyen Xuan Chinh Temple".
