Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong offers incense at Do Temple

(BNP) - On the occasion of celebrating Lunar New Year, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on January 24 offered incense to commemorate the kings of the Ly Dynasty at the Special National Monument of Do Temple, Dinh Bang Ward, Tu Son City.

Joining the Central delegation were Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the Office of the Party Central Committee Le Minh Hung; Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long.

Representatives from Bac Ninh province were Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies Dao Hong Lan; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Quoc Chung; Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huong Giang; Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan and leaders of departments, sectors and Tu Son city.

The Party chief and senior officials offered incense at Do Temple, a special national relic site dedicated to eight kings of the Ly Dynasty (1010 - 1225).

At Temple Do, General Secretary Trong met, talked and sent Tet greetings to the seniors and people of Dinh Bang ward. At the same time, he visited the painting process of Dong Ho folk painting - Vietnam’s cultural quintessence.

On this occasion, the Party General Secretary and participants enjoyed Bac Ninh Quan Ho folksong- Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity as well as met with artisans and the People's Teacher, Labor Hero Nguyen Duc Thin.
