(BNP) - On October 9, the Central Law Education and Dissemination Coordination Council (Council) held the 2024 “Business and Law” forum. The event was held online with the theme “Partnering up to address legal issues and create a favorable investment and business environment for companies”. Deputy Prime Minister (PM) and Chairman of the Council Le Thanh Long attended the forum.

Overview of the forum at Bac Ninh’s venue.

Participants at Bac Ninh’s venue were Mr. Ngo Tan Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee (PPC); representatives and leaders of departments and sectors.

At the forum, delegates focused on discussing and clarifying some current “hot” issues such as: inadequacies in administrative procedures, site clearance of real estate projects, planning issues, selection of investors, land prices, investment project implementation, procedures applied to projects related to the Party’s policies and guidelines, and the State’s legal policies. At the same time, they discussed value-added tax refunds, supplementing regulations on value-added tax refund procedures to ensure transparency, corporate income tax that needs to be amended in the context of enterprises tending to do business in multiple industries and fields, etc.

Speaking at the forum, Deputy PM Le Thanh Long highly appreciated the scientific contributions at the event. He requested that the Ministry of Justice would fully apprehend and synthesize the opinions and recommendations raised by delegates at the forum to advise the PM on direction, management, and assignment of tasks to agencies. The relevant ministries and sectors continue to cooperate and implement many solutions to resolve legal issues for businesses, especially solutions to promote the improvement of legal institutions, he added.

Speaking at Bac Ninh’s venue, Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong suggested that members of the Provincial Council continue to advise the PPC’s Chairman and the Council’s Chairman on how to guide and direct the dissemination and education of new laws in the coming time. These activities need to be connected to the implementation of political tasks in the locality with the motto of towards the grassroots, from the grassroots, for the grassroots, he stressed.

The Department of Justice, which is the standing agency of the Provincial Council, guides units and localities to promptly and practically implement new laws and activities in response to the Law Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on November 9, Phuong highlighted.
