Secretary of Provincial Party Committee visits the exhibition of “Dong Ho Folk Printing-Past and Present”

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Nhan Chien participated in the experience of Dong Ho Folk Painting.

Taking place from October 31^st, 2019 to January 31^st, 2020, the exhibition "Dong Ho folk painting - past and present" is displayed in 02 rooms with more than 100 artifacts include paintings, woodcuts and painting making tools. In particular, the Dong Ho Folk Painting Room has some items that are almost 100 years old. They feature traditional images like chickens, herds of pigs, chubby babies, national heroes or legendary figures, showing the wishes for longevity, happiness, prosperity and success. The exhibition also zones a section for paintings that were recently recovered or created by contemporary artisans.

Directly visiting the artworks, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Nhan Chien thanked Vietnam Fine Arts Museum for the organization of the exhibition, thereby contributing to propagandizing and promoting cultural beauty and typical artistic values of Dong Ho Folk painting - past and present for domestic and international tourists. This is also an event in the series of activities to build the national nomination dossier “Dong Ho folk paintings” to submit UNESCO with an aim to restoring, protecting and developing the folk painting profession in the current period.
