(BNP) - Continuing the series of visiting and working in Europe, a Delegation of Bac Ninh province led by Mr. Dao Quang Khai, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee visited and worked with Swimsol GmbH (Republic of Austria) on August 31.

Swimsol GmbH is a company operating in the European solar industry. For 22 years, the company has implemented over 500 solar systems, and over 100 MW of installations at low cost over a long lifetime. Especially, the company has launched the world’s largest floating solar system at sea with several projects in the Maldives and some other countries.

On behalf of the delegation, Vice Chairman Dao Quang Khai briefed on the significant achievements in the province's socio-economic development over the past time and its  major orientations in the coming time.

In terms of using solar energy, electricity consumption of Bac Ninh province reached about 9 billion KWH in 2023, including 491 rooftop solar projects with a total installed capacity of 20,22 MWp, accounting for 0,18% of the province's electricity consumption, Khai said. It is forecasted that the province's electricity demand will rise to 11,5 billion KWH by 2025 with the total installed capacity of rooftop solar system is estimated to reach 232 MWp, meeting 3,92% of electricity consumption demand in the province. Furthermore, a number of large enterprises in the province such as FUSHAN TECHNOLOGY Co., Ltd, Funing Precision Component Co., Ltd, and others are interested in registering to invest in rooftop solar systems.

Khai hoped that in the near future, Swimsol GmbH will invest in solar systems in Bac Ninh province. In the forthcoming time, the company will deploy some pilot rooftop solar systems to replicate the model in the roofs of factories in industrial zones and clusters, offices, education and healthcare buildings, etc.
