Traffic accidents in province decreases in all 3 criteria
(BNP) - According to the report of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, in 2024, the traffic order and safety situation in the province had many positive changes after 1 year of implementing Resolution No. 87-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee and Plan No. 71/KH-UBND of the province on building a “Traffic Safety Province”. Traffic accidents decreased in all 3 criteria (17.5% decrease in accidents; 17.9% decrease in deaths; 25.7% decrease in injuries).
Vehicles strictly comply with traffic regulations.
During the year, the province had 420 traffic accidents, killing 193 people and injuring 254 people. Compared to the same period in 2023, there were 89 fewer cases (17.5%), 42 fewer deaths (17.9%), and 88 fewer injuries (25.7%). There were no traffic accidents on railways or inland waterways.
In 2024, more than 72,700 cases of violations of the Road Traffic Law were inspected and handled. The provincial traffic police force issued decisions to handle more than 59,600 administrative violations, paying more than VND 166 billion to the State Treasury.
Some handling topics have achieved high efficiency, increasing compared to 2023 such as: Handling alcohol concentration violations increased by 72.8%; Handling not wearing helmets increased by 43.4%; Handling passenger cars increased by 66.3%; Handling container trucks increased by 54.4%; Handling vehicles exceeding the prescribed speed limit increased by 1,172%.
In 2025, with the theme of the Traffic Safety Year “Safe Journey, Creating the Future”, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee continues to promote and innovate propaganda work so that traffic participants can raise their awareness of voluntarily complying with the law and measures to prevent traffic accidents; focus on propaganda and mobilization to wear helmets according to regulations and not drive after drinking alcohol; raise people’s awareness and consciousness in complying with traffic safety laws and preventing traffic accidents.
