Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh attends the incense-offering ceremony and declares Kinh Duong Vuong festival
On February 20 (January 16 in lunar calendar), Thuan Thanh district celebrated the opening ceremony of the traditional festival to pay tribute to Kinh Duong Vuong, who is nation’s legendary founder. Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh offered incense to the King and beat the drum to open the festival.

Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and delegates respectfully offered incense at the Temple and Tomb of Kinh Duong Vuong, expressing deep gratitude to the ancestors of the nation; praying for favorable weather, peace, striving to build and protect the rich and civilized country.
After the incense offering ceremony, the Vice President and other provincial leaders planted trees at the Kinh Duong Vuong Tomb.
According to historical documents, in 2879 (BC), Kinh Duong Vuong established the first, independent sovereign state of our nation. Kinh Duong Vuong was born Lac Long Quan who married Au Co to give birth to Hùng King. During the long history of the nation, Tomb and temple of Kinh Duong Vuong (in A Lu village, Dai Dong Thanh commune, Thuan Thanh) have always been considered the place of worship of the King, worshiped by feudal dynasties and people. The Kinh Duong Vuong festival is held annually to show the culture and morality "when drinking water, think of its source" and remind generations to always remember their ancestors.
National Historic Site of the tomb and temple of Kinh Duong Vuong was planned and built on a total area of over 30 hectares. In the 2015-2016 period, the province completed the restoration and renovation of Guest house, courtyard and gate, and the Temple; and in the 2017-2018 period, it continues to complete Tomb area to meet the worship needs of people and visitors.
