(BNP) - On behalf of the Politburo, General Secretary To Lam signed and promulgated Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of Vietnamese culture.

The Resolution affirms the overarching viewpoint: Developing culture and people is the foundation, driving force, pillar, and regulating system for the sustainable development of the country. Culture must lead the way, permeate all areas of social life, from policy planning to implementation, from real life to the digital space.

The Resolution sets out the following goals:

By 2030, build an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in national identity; strongly develop cultural industries; narrow the gap in cultural enjoyment between regions; gradually form cultural, artistic, and creative brands of regional and international stature.

The vision for 2045 is to build a socialist Vietnamese culture in which people are the center, subject, and goal of development; culture becomes a prominent soft power, contributing to affirming Vietnam's position as a developed, high-income country.

In particular, the Politburo unanimously chose November 24th each year as "Vietnamese Culture Day," with the principle of making it a holiday where workers receive full pay, so that people can enhance their ability to enjoy culture, artists can be encouraged to create, and the whole society can promote and practice a cultured and civilized lifestyle.

To realize these goals, the Resolution identifies a comprehensive and synchronized system of tasks and solutions, focusing on renewing thinking on cultural development; perfecting breakthrough institutions and policies; building a comprehensively developed Vietnamese person; strongly developing the cultural industry in conjunction with science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation; Actively and proactively integrate into the international cultural arena.

The Resolution reflects the Party's strong political determination to make culture a solid foundation, an endogenous resource, and a great spiritual strength, contributing to building a prosperous, happy, and sustainably developed country in the new era.
