10 groups to achieve growth of 8%

At the Bac Ninh’s venue, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies chaired the meeting. Mr. Dao Quang Khai, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Ngo Tan Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also attended the meeting.

According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vietnam has grown by about 6.4% in nearly 40 years of innovation since 1986. In 2024, Vietnam's GDP reached more than USD 470 billion, with an average income per capita of about USD 4,700.

At the 9th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly held on February 19, the National Assembly passed a Resolution supplementing the socio-economic development plan for 2025, setting a GDP growth target of 8% or more and a GDP scale exceeding USD 500 billion. The Government issued Resolution No. 01/NQ-CP and Resolution No. 25/NQ-CP, identifying 12 key targets for sectors in 2025; requiring localities to achieve breakthrough growth of 8% or more, in which the two growth poles are Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and leading localities need to achieve growth higher than the national average. Specifically: Hanoi reached 8%, Ho Chi Minh City reached 10%, Bac Giang reached 13.6%, Hai Phong reached 12.5%, Quang Ninh reached 12%, Bac Ninh reached 8%, Thanh Hoa reached 11%, Nghe An reached 10.5%, Da Nang reached 10%, Dong Nai reached 10%, Binh Duong reached 10%, Ba Ria-Vung Tau reached 10%.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed the goal of achieving at least 8% growth by 2025: "The Party has directed, the Government has agreed, the National Assembly has supported, the people have agreed, and the Fatherland has expected, so we are only discussing doing, not retreating."  The Prime Minister recommended that ministries, branches, and localities focus on effectively executing ten sets of solutions in order to meet the established growth targets and plans.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directed the Secretaries and Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and cities to further promote the spirit of solidarity, joint efforts, and unanimity of the entire political system, people, and business community; and ministries and branches to coordinate and resolve recommendations and proposals in order to successfully complete the tasks and growth solutions outlined.
