7 sport events to see in 2018

(BNP) – In 2018, Bac Ninh Sports achieved nearly 300 medals, including 35 international medals.

Bac Ninh Sports Delegation won 30 medals at 8th National Sports Festival

Taking place from November 15th to December 10th, the 8th National Sports Festival attracted more than 11,700 athletes, coaches and referees. The Festival held 36 subjects with 743 contents to compete. Bac Ninh sports delegation dispatched 18 coaches and 91 athletes to compete for 10 of 36 subjects. After nearly one month, Bac Ninh team has 30 medals including 5 gold medals, 11 silver medals, 14 bronze ones, ranking 29 of 65 provinces and cities in the country. Compared with the 7th National Sports Festival, Bac Ninh increased 2 levels and 14 medals (1 gold medal, 6 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals).

Kinh Bac women's volleyball team won at National Volleyball A-League Final in 2018

At the Kinh Bac Women’s Volleyball Tournament, IMP Cup (February 2018), the Kinh Bac Women’s Volleyball Team excellently won the Tournament and brought the first trophy to the province.

During the Kinh Bac women volleyball friendly match program (September 2018), Kinh Bac Women's Volleyball Team defeated three teams including Tien Nong Thanh Hoa, Hai Duong and Dak Lak and won the first place to participate in the 2018 National Volleyball A-League Final in 2018.

Taking part in the first professional season, at the 2018 National Volleyball A-League in 2018, the Kinh Bac Women's Volleyball Team won convincingly with the 3 - 0 scores, won the first prize at the championship as well as received a ticket to compete in the 2019 National Championship.

Bac Ninh ranked the second at the National Youth Fencing Championships in 2018

The 9th National Youth Fencing Championships in 2018 was held in Bac Ninh and attracted 112 athletes from 7 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide including Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Hai Duong and the Ministry of Public Security. Athletes competed in 3 contents including saber, foil and epee, and divided into 2 groups of age: under 17, 18 – 20. Attending the tournament, Bac Ninh team sent 15 athletes participating in 2 groups of ages and competing in three contents (saber, foil and epee).

Finishing the tournament, Ho Chi Minh city came in first with 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 3 bronze medals; Bac Ninh ranked second with 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 7 bronze medals; Ha Noi ranked third with 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 4 bronze medals.

The cadet fighters’ 3 gold medals went to Pham Nhat Anh in under 17-men’s sabre; Tran Huy Hoang in men’s epee in under 18 to 20 age group and teammate men’s foil.

Bac Ninh won the high prize at the Phu Dong National Football Tournament - Milo Cup in 2018

Taking place from May 26th to June 3rd, the tournament attracted 152 players from 12 teams (8 Primary and 4 Secondary teams) of 9 provinces and cities including Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong , Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Bac Ninh. Bac Ninh had two teams to compete at the Primary and Secondary level with an aim to winning a ticket of the final round.

At the end of the tournament, in the content of Primary level, Kien Giang team won the first prize, Quang Tri won the second prize, Bac Ninh and Thanh Hoa won the third prize. In the content of Secondary level, Binh Dinh team won the first prize, Bac Ninh team won the second prize, the team of Phu Tho province and Binh Phuoc province won the third prize.

Bac Ninh won at the 7th Southeast Asia Karate Federation Championship in 2018

The 7th Southeast Asia Karate Federation Championship in 2018 attracted nearly 400 sports officials, coaches and athletes from seven countries in the region including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam were brought together at the event. Athletes competed in the event which features the men’s, women’s teams categories and individuals’ classes divided into four groups of age: 14-15, 16-17, over 18, and under 21, to vie for 52 sets of medals.

Vietnam sent 80 athletes to compete in the event and ranked the first with 92 medals including 30 gold medals, 25 silver medals and 37 bronze medals.

In this tournament, Bac Ninh had 6 athletes taking part in competition with 7 medals. In particular, Bui Van Chuyen fought in the senior’s men U57kg with a gold medal; the cadet fighters’ bronze medals went to Tran Manh Kien in the men’s U70kg, Ngo Van Hung in the men’s U55kg, Le Huy Duc in the men’s U75kg, Hoang Van Tam in the men’s U80kg and Nguyen Van Nhat in the men’s U67kg.

Bac Ninh successfully organized 2018 Asian U19 Women's Volleyball Championship

For the first time, the Asian U19 Women's Volleyball Championship was held in Bac Ninh with 15 teams including Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Taipei (China), Kazakhstan, Iran, India, Macao (China), Hongkong (China), New Zealand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee handed over the Cup to Japan. China and Thailand won the second and third prizes, respectively. In this tournament, Vietnamese team ranked the 6th after meeting Korea.
