8th Bac Ninh Province Open Badminton Championship - Television Cup opens

Attending and encouraging the athletes were Mr. Trinh Huu Hung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament; leaders of the Provincial Radio and Television Station and the Provincial People's Committee Office.

This year's tournament attracted more than 800 athletes from 51 teams from departments, branches, sectors, districts, towns, cities, businesses and units located in the province. Athletes compete in 02 contents: provincial age group championship and age group open championship. This is also the tournament that attracts the highest number of athletes ever.

Accordingly, in the age group championship content, athletes compete in 02 contents: championship and family. In particular, the championship content is divided into 08 age groups including: from 10 - 13 years old; from 14 - 15 years old; from 16 - 18 years old; from 19 - 30 years old; from 31 - 40 years old; from 41 - 50 years old; from 51 - 55 years old; 56 years old or older. They compete in the following events: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.

For family content, competitions are organized for married couples in 03 age groups: 40 years old and under; from 41 to 50 years old; 51 years old or older.

This is a practical activity to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; as well as the 70^th anniversary of the tradition day of Bac Ninh Radio and Television.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, badminton matches took place in each content. According to the plan, the tournament takes place from August 16 - 19, 2024.
