Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Theater wins 3 prizes at National musical instrument and solo competition
(BNP) - A National musical instrument and solo competition 2020 was held by Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) from September 18 to October 5. Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Theater participated in the contest and won 2 second prizes and 1 third prize.

This year's competition was held in 5 locations including Dak Lak, Ho Chi Minh City, Thanh Hoa, Vinh Phuc and Hanoi city, attracting 650 artists from 35 art troupes nationwide.
In Hanoi city, there were 8 art troupes participating in the contest, namely Vietnam National Tuong Theater, Hanoi Theater of Cai Luong, Military University of Culture and Arts, Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Theater, Vietnam Theater of Cai Luong, Vietnam National Academy of Music, Performance Art Theatre, Vietnam Theater of Cheo.
At the end of the competition, Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Theater was awarded 2 second prizes for the content of orchestral concert and monochord solo; 1 third prize for solo instrument moon.
The contest aims to honor, preserve and promote values of Vietnamese folk music, contributing to building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity. This is also an opportunity for artists, lecturers, and students specialized in ethnic musical instruments to show their personal ability, exchange and share experiences in art activities as well as preserve and promote the quintessence of Vietnamese traditional music.
