Deputy Prime Minister works in Bac Ninh province
(BNP) – In the afternoon of April 28th, Deputy Primie Minister (DPM) of the Government Trinh Dinh Dung had a working session with Bac Ninh’s leaders on result evaluation of socio-economic development in 2016 and the first four months of 2017.

Also joining the Delegation were Vice Chairman of Government Office Cao Van Luc; Deputy Minister of Finance Vu Thi Mai; Deputy Minister of Construction Bui Pham Khanh; Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Thoa; Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Linh Ngoc; Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Dao Minh Tu.
On the side of Bac Ninh province, there were Secretary of Provicial Party Committee (PPC) Nguyen Nhan Chien; Permanent Deputy Secretary of PPC Nguyen Huu Quat; Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Tu Quynh; Deputy Secretary of PPC Nguyen Thi Ha; Chairwoman of Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Huong Giang; leaders of Permanent Provincial People's Council, Provincial People’s Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front and Province’s National Assembly Delegation; leaders of departments, branches, sectors….
On behalf of provincial leaders, Chairman Nguyen Tu Quynh briefed on result evaluation of socio-economic development in 2016 and the first four months of 2017; task and solution in the next few months.
The Chairman affirmed that Bac Ninh had basically become a modern industrialized province. Until the end of 2016, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) reached VND 109,106 billion with an increase of 9%, among which, industrial value accounted for 74.3% of GRDP; industrial production value reached VND 705,921 billion, ranking the second in the country; total export turnover reached USD 22.8 billion...
Within the first 4 months of 2017, province’s GRDP attained VND 37,800 billion, or 31.8% of plan with an increase of 5.5% compared with same period of last year. Value of industrial production fetched nearly VND 230,000 billion; State budget revenue was VND 8,500 billion; 46 FDI projects were issued new investment certificates with total registered capital of USD 144 million…
In the last months of 2017, Bac Ninh continues to implement resolutions of the Central Government and the Prime Minister's conclusions at the meeting with Bac Ninh’s leaders.
Speaking at the meeting, DPM Trinh Dinh Dung urged Bac Ninh and enterprises based there to review their production lines in order to formulate policies designed to prioritise key products with large growth potential, helping to lift growth of the province and the country in general.
He added that the relationship between growth and social progress is not proportionate when Bac Ninh has a high income per capita but the gap between rich and poor is widening.
Furthermore, the province has to ensure the harmony between economic and urban development with environmental issues, in addition to the focus on fostering economic growth.
The DPM also noted that the province must pay attention to building houses for industrial workers, protect the environment and ensure the interest of local residents.
