(BNP) - On the afternoon of August 15, the Organizing Committee of the Program "Joining hands to ease the pain of Agent Orange" cooperated with agencies, units, and sponsors to give gifts to victims of Agent Orange in Bac Ninh province on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the Agent Orange Disaster in Vietnam (1961 - 2024) and the Day for Victims of Agent Orange (August 10).

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) Pham Xuan Hung and Standing Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization Ngo Van Khuong present gifts to victims of Agent Orange.

In recent years, along with economic development, Bac Ninh has always focused and paid attention to implementing preferential policies for people with meritorious services to the revolution, including victims of Agent Orange. Currently, the province has more than 3,000 victims of Agent Orange receiving monthly benefits, including 2,240 victims who participated in resistance activities and 774 victims who are biological children of resistance activists.

The VAVA at all levels in the province is always concerned and facilitated by all levels and sectors in the province. To date, the Association has been established at all three levels with more than 2,600 members. This is the basis for the Association to have favorable conditions to manage and promote the mobilization of resources to care for victims of Agent Orange.

At the program, the Organizing Committee awarded 50 gifts with a total value of VND 60 million to victims of Agent Orange in Bac Ninh province.

The program "Joining hands to ease the pain of Agent Orange" in 2024 is assigned by the Central VAVA for Vietnam Agent Orange Magazine in coordination with agencies, units, and sponsors. This is an activity that shows the concern of the VAVA at all levels and agencies, units, and sponsors to the victims of Agent Orange to partly soothe and help victims overcome their pain and rise up in their lives.
