Improve the quality of transportation service to serve the needs of people and socio-economic development

(BNP) - With the aim of improving the quality of transportation service, the provincial transportation sector has applied the mechanisms and policies to create a healthy competitive environment, attracting all economic sectors to participate in the transport business, thereby, promoting the development of public passenger transportation, cargo transportation in order to serve the needs of people as well as socio-economic development of the province.

Up to now, nearly 450 enterprises, cooperatives and business household of passenger transport by car are licensed with the total number of nearly 5,000 vehicles including passenger transportation by fixed routes, taxi, bus...

From the beginning of the year to now, volume of passenger transportation was estimated at 17.96 million passengers with an increase of 15.9% compared with same period of last year. Passenger volume reached 854.2 million passengers. Kilometers with an increase of 17%. Revenue from passenger transportation was estimated at 1,155.5 billion, up 18.5%.

Regarding cargo transportation, volume of transported cargoes was estimated at 31.1 million tons, up 6.5% in comparison with the same month of last year; volume of freight traffic reached 1,539 million tons.
