The tray not only shows respect to ancestors, but also expresses the homeowner's wishes for a prosperous and lucky new year. Here are the meanings of fruits commonly found in the five-fruit tray on Tet.


Bananas symbolize children and grandchildren gathering, being warm, receiving good luck, covering and protecting.


Buddha's hand fruit symbolizes the Buddha's hand protecting the whole family.


Pomelo means well-being and prosperity.


Oranges and tangerines symbolize success.


Apples mean wealth and prosperity.


Dragon fruit means gathering cloud and dragons, representing prosperity.


Watermelon represents roundness and freshness, symbolizing a year full of abundance and luck.
