Meeting to discuss plan to connect Gia Binh airport with Hanoi capital and Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway

Also attending the meeting were: Mr. Dao Quang Khai, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the PPC; Mr. Ngo Tan Phuong, Vice Chairman of the PPC; leaders of relevant departments, branches and localities.

At the meeting, delegates listened to, discussed and gave opinions on the route connecting Gia Binh airport with Hanoi capital and the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway.

In general, the route connecting Gia Binh airport with Hanoi capital passes through Luong Tai and Gia Binh districts, Thuan Thanh town and Gia Lam, Long Bien and Dong Anh districts (Hanoi city).

In terms of the route connecting to Kenh Vang bridge, from the starting point of the project in Tan Lang commune (Luong Tai), the route goes to the East through Phu Hoa and An Thinh communes, connecting with the route to Kenh Vang bridge, crossing Kinh Thay river to Nam Sach district (Hai Duong) to connect to National Highway (NH)37 - NH18 to Quang Ninh; the route length is about 10.6 km.

Concluding at the meeting, Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan praised the responsible and urgent spirit of departments, branches, localities, and consulting units in coordinating to develop clear and coherent connection plans, meeting the criteria according to the Conclusion of the General Secretary and Prime Minister when visiting and working with Bac Ninh province.

“This is a project of the century, creating a breakthrough in the development of the country in general and Bac Ninh province in particular. Therefore, we must effectively operate all assigned tasks for the Gia Binh airport project and the connecting route. The spirit of unifying the route according to option 1 is to report to the Standing Committees of the Provincial Party Committee and the Central Government. This is a highly feasible option, the shortest route, the most effective function and creates a beautiful, modern landscape, thus creating a spread of urban areas, commercial areas and other functional areas”, Tuan stressed.

For the spirit of implementing the Gia Binh airport project phase 2, the PPC’s Chairman requested Gia Binh district to promptly complete the contents related to the proposal for site clearance and relocation of works before February 20, especially infrastructure works related to the project, to implement the next steps... to meet the requirements and tasks set out, in order to demonstrate the strength, consensus and solidarity of the entire political system towards this national key project.
