Provincial leader inspects incidents of dykes and irrigation works in province
(BNP) – On December 2, Mr. Le Xuan Loi, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee along with leaders of relevant departments and sectors inspected dike incidents and irrigation works in the province affected by storm No. 3 and floods caused by the storm.

Vice Chairman Le Xuan Loi directly inspected the incident of extrusion and bubbling circuits caused by storm No. 3 at location K76+600 of the Que Tan pumping station's suction tank channel (Que Vo town); the incident of subsidence, cracking, and landslides of the right bank of Ngu Huyen Khe river at some locations from K20+650 to K24+130 through Phu Lam commune (Tien Du district); the incident of seepage on the dike body at section K8+100 of the right bank of Ca Lo river through Hoa Tien commune and the incident at the head area of Vong Nguyet pumping station (Yen Phong district).
The Vice Chairman praised the Department of Agriculture, localities, and forces for quickly mobilizing human resources, machinery, materials, and equipment to deal with incidents involving dykes and irrigation works during the storm, thereby contributing to the safety of the dyke system, irrigation works, and the lives and property of local residents.

The Vice Chairman assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to work with relevant departments, sectors and localities to review and compile statistics on all incidents of dikes and irrigation works in the province affected by storm No. 3 and floods after the storm, and report to the Provincial People's Committee for long-term incident handling, according to the list of urgent projects in need of investment.

Loi further assigned relevant departments and branches to closely coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in advising and submitting to the Provincial People's Committee for approval of investment policies and implementing projects to handle incidents, ensuring completion before the 2025 storm season.

The Vice Chairman also stated that the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development must carefully calculate the scale of each project to ensure the safety of the dike system and irrigation works while also creating favorable conditions for transportation, regional connectivity, landscape, and socioeconomic development in the locality.
