Provincial Science and Technology Competition for Secondary and High School Students and STEM Festival for Primary School Students opens

(BNP) - On the morning of January 31, 2024, the Department of Education and Training held the opening ceremony of the Provincial Science and Technology Competition for Secondary and High School students (Competition) and the STEM Festival for Primary School students, school year 2023 - 2024.

This year's Competition has the participation of 42 projects; including 21 projects from secondary schools and 21 projects from high schools. Participating projects are in many fields such as: Mechanical engineering, embedded systems, robots and smart machines, social and behavioral sciences, environmental engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, physical energy Physics and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) educational products...

This is an annual activity to help students apply their knowledge from subjects to solve real-life problems.

At the program, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Bien, Director of the Pedagogical Professional Center, Hanoi National University of Education, directly discussed scientific research and STEM activities with practical experiments applying learned knowledge.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded 02 First, 09 Second, 14 Third and 11 Fourth Prizes to typical projects. Among them, 02 projects won first prize from Han Thuyen High School and Tien An Secondary School (Bac Ninh city) and they were selected to represent Bac Ninh province to attend the National Science and Technology Competition in 2024.

Within the framework of the program, a STEM Festival for primary school students also took place with many booths displaying and experiencing STEM products from units of the Department of Education and Training at all levels and some primary schools; workshop on STEM education for primary students.
