Provincial Social Insurance warns of fake information

(BNP) - The Provincial Social Insurance has just issued document No. 2283/BHXH-PTT on warning about fake information.

Accordingly, on November 4, 2024, the Social Insurance of Bac Ninh province received information from the Social Insurance of Luong Tai district about an Invitation Letter with a forged seal of the Vietnam Social Insurance agency and a forged signature of the Deputy Director of the Social Insurance of Bac Ninh province which sent to people in Luong Tai district requesting to change and supplement information on registration for using electronic transactions in social insurance, updating electronic information on health insurance and registering a VssID account.

The Provincial Social Insurance affirmed that the Invitation Letter with the above content is forged and fraudulent with the bad intention of appropriating personal information, causing financial damage to people, affecting the reputation of the Provincial Social Insurance in particular and the Social Insurance Industry of Vietnam in general.

In order to promptly prevent and stop the above fraudulent acts and warn people how to avoid being scammed in social insurance and health insurance, it is recommended that functional agencies, authorities at all levels, and labor-using units grasp and disseminate information to all classes of people and employees to proactively raise vigilance, guard against, and protect personal information against acts of forgery and fraud, and take measures to prevent, stop, and handle the above fraudulent acts and similar acts in social insurance and health insurance.

Social insurance agencies of districts, towns, and cities need to promptly notify agencies, units, and employees in the management area of ​​information to raise vigilance, proactively prevent, and avoid being scammed, and having their personal information and assets appropriated. At the same time, they strictly implement the agency's telephone hotline and respond to phone calls, emails, and text messages (if any) of people when requested for support. They also coordinate with local authorities at all levels to broadcast warnings to people on loudspeaker systems to every hamlet and neighborhood in the area so that people and workers can grasp information and proactively stay vigilant and avoid fraudulent acts.
