Standing Deputy Secretary receives delegation of Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan
(BNP) - On July 12, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Chung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council received and worked with Mr. IMAI AKIRA, Executive Director of Global Strategy, Department of International Cooperation, Culture and Tourism, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Ngo Tan Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Office of the Provincial Party Committee, the Office of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Industrial Zones Authority, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Chung warmly welcomed the delegation of Kanagawa Prefecture to visit and work in Bac Ninh. At the same time, he provided quick information on the province's geographical position, socio-economic development situation in the past, development orientation in the future, and stressed the positive relationship between Bac Ninh province and Japanese communities, particularly cooperation and exchange activities with Kanagawa province in the past. Currently, Japan has 100 valid investment projects in Bac Ninh totaling around USD 1.67 billion in registered investment capital. Japanese businesses are mostly concerned with the production of electronic components, mechanical engineering, environmental protection, and so on.
Chung gave information about the activities that Bac Ninh province wants to do in the near future to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. Among which, Bac Ninh will establish a mission to visit and operate in Kanagawa province; participate in the Vietnam Festival in Kanagawa and organize promotional events, investment promotion, and introduction of the traditional cultural beauty of Quan Ho motherland. These activities will help to promote the cooperation relationship between the two provinces in particular, as well as between Bac Ninh province and Japan in general, in the coming years.
For his part, Mr. IMAI AKIRA, Executive Director of Global Strategy, Department of International Cooperation, Culture, and Tourism, Kanagawa, stated that from 2005 to the present, Kanagawa province had many festival events in Vietnam and has received a lot of help from Bac Ninh province in the process of arranging and implementing festival activities, with many excellent outcomes. He expressed his desire to continue expanding collaboration with Bac Ninh province in the domains of two interested parties, citing the region's rich cultural legacy and remarkable socioeconomic development. The authorities of Kanagawa province warmly welcome and will establish the most favorable conditions for the Bac Ninh Provincial Delegation's visit and work in Kanagawa to be successful.
