Tan Hong ward wins 6th Tu Son City Youth Football Tournament

(BNP) - After more than 2 weeks of competition, on August 26, the final match and closing ceremony of the 6th Tu Son City Youth Football Tournament in 2024 took place at Dinh Bang Ward Stadium, Tu Son City.

The tournament gathered more than 200 athletes from 12 youth football teams in the wards of Tu Son city. The teams competed in a 7-a-side format, each half lasted 30 minutes. They were divided into 4 tables, played a round-robin tournament, and selected the 1st and 2nd teams from each table to advance to the next round. The matches took place in the afternoons after office hours.

With superior physique and technique, the two teams of Chau Khe ward and Tan Hong ward have excellently surpassed the teams to compete for the championship in the final match. After 2 official matches, the two teams tied with a score of 1-1 and entered the penalty shootout. In the end, Tan Hong ward won Chau Khe ward with a score of 1-3 in the penalty shootout and won the championship.

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded the Cup and Gold medal to Tan Hong ward; Second prize and Silver medal to Chau Khe ward; and Third Prize to the teams of Tam Son and Dong Ngan. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded additional prizes to the best player, best goalkeeper and player with the most goals in the tournament.

The 6th Tu Son City Youth Football Tournament is a practical activity to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the re-establishment of Tu Son district, now Tu Son city (September 1, 1999 - 2024), and to welcome the success of the Congress of the Tu Son City Youth Union for the 2024 - 2029 term. At the same time, it promotes the movement of physical training and competition, especially football, helping union members and young people improve their health, serve their studies and work, and improving the quality and effectiveness of the activities of the Youth Union and the United Youth League in the city.
